This year, athletes around the world are training for an Olympics that should have occurred last year. The improbability of this circumstance will be part of their Olympic story in years to come. In 2000, Amanda Simper was creating her own improbable Olympic story when she competed in Sydney in sprint kayaking. Improbable? She was 32 years old and had first sat in a kayak less than 6 years earlier. Amanda will talk through the highs and lows of being a latecomer to elite sport, and give a peek-behind-the-curtains view of the Olympic experience of 20 years ago.
