Visiting Claremont Aquatic Centre during COVID-19 restrictions
(effective as of 6 June 2020 at 7am)
In line with government restrictions, Claremont Aquatic Centre has reopened.
Changes to our usual way of operating
We've had to change a few things in order to meet the government's guidelines:
- The Aquatic Centre has a maximum capacity of 200 patrons (100 persons per pool).
- All patrons must have a current centre membership to assist with record keeping*
- The number of swimmers is restricted to 100 patrons per session per pool.
- Change rooms will be available.
- Squads and user groups can resume training, bookings by arrangement with management.
- All patrons must shower before entering the pool
We ask for your cooperation in meeting these guidelines so that we can continue to protect the safety and wellbeing of our visitors, staff, and wider community.
*Centre membership ($5/person) is available here
or by calling centre management.
Things that haven't changed
- Opening days and times remain the same.
- Normal entry fees apply.
- Splash pad open.
- Group fitness classes.
About Claremont Aquatic Centre
Claremont Aquatic Centre is at 12 Davies Road, Claremont. The family-oriented outdoor centre is open year-round and caters to the Claremont community, the western suburbs and beyond. The pools are naturally heated through a geothermal system. This is the most environmentally friendly way of heating and saves 330 tonnes of greenhouse gases each year. The artesian water comes out of the ground at 43C and heats the pool water to 28C throughout winter months.
Claremont Aquatic Centre is an accredited St John SAFE facility.
New water playground
The new water playground at the Aquatic Centre is currently closed due to COVID-19.
The new play area has a 1000 litre mega bucket, shooting water jets, showers and misters. The playground design also includes palm trees and shady decks for seating for parents and carers to watch little ones in safety and comfort.
Replacing the 47 year old toddler pool, the $750 000 project has been funded by the Town with support from the Australian Government’s Community Sport Infrastructure Grants Program.
