About Claremont Aquatic Centre
Claremont Aquatic Centre is at 12 Davies Road, Claremont. The family-oriented outdoor centre is open year-round and caters to the Claremont community, the western suburbs and beyond. The pools are naturally heated through a geothermal system. This is the most environmentally friendly way of heating and saves 330 tonnes of greenhouse gases each year. The artesian water comes out of the ground at 43C and heats the pool water to 28C throughout winter months.
Claremont Aquatic Centre is an accredited St John SAFE facility.
Pool supervision guidelines
It is required that an adult 16 years or older must accompany children under 5 years of age while in the water. Adults supervising children under 5 years of age shall pay an admission fee; you cannot enter as a spectator. Children under 10 years of age must be supervised by a person 16 years or older at all times. A swimming child should never leave your sight.
Water Playground and Splash Pad
The water playground and splash pad has a 1000 litre mega bucket, shooting water jets, showers and misters. The playground design also includes palm trees and shady decks for seating for parents and carers to watch little ones in safety and comfort.
Replacing the 47 year old toddler pool, the $750 000 project has been funded by the Town with support from the Australian Government’s Community Sport Infrastructure Grants Program.
Car parking capacity has increased, with the Aquatic Centre and Golf Course car park now linked by an access ramp. Other improvements to assist pool access include;
- an aquatic wheel chair
- dedicated disabled / family change room
- pool hoist for the 50m pool
- pool wall entry steps
- walk in steps with handrails in both the 25m and 50m pool
