The Capital Works Program has been developed to meet anticipated community infrastructure needs and the future development of the Town to align with the strategic plan, driven by population growth, requirements of the community and asset management. These works include footpath replacement, traffic management treatments and road re-sheeting works among other minor capital works.
Upcoming capital works
Residents living within the proximity of these upcoming works will have received correspondence from the Town providing project details. If you have any queries regarding these works, please contact us.
Lake Claremont Path Upgrade
The path area outside the Scotch College Tennis Courts through to the west to end of the Eastern cricket pitches is being upgraded (approximately 420m total).
Weather permitting, the Lake Claremont path upgrade is scheduled to start on Tuesday 11 April and is expected to be completed by the end of April.
As part of the works, sections of the fence separating Scotch College from the existing path will have to be removed to allow construction vehicle access. The fence will be reinstated when completed.
The majority of the works are expected to be completed in the first week of the project with remediation and a general clean-up of the area in the following weeks.
While works are occurring, signs will be placed reminding path users to stay out of the construction site and to use a route through the school ovals in the interim.
The path should be reopen to the public in time for the Lake Claremont Parkrun scheduled for Saturday 15 April, however if there are delays to the project the route may be diverted accordingly.
