Claremont Community Funding

Community Grants

The Claremont Community Funding Program provides financial assistance of up to $3000 to groups and individuals who aim to benefit the Town by encouraging social activity, vibrancy, community participation and sustainability within Claremont.

  • Community groups and services
  • Charitable organisations
  • Social enterprises
  • Individuals

Eligibility 

To be eligible for Community Grant Funding, you must fulfil the below:

  • The project must take place within the Town of Claremont boundaries 
  • Be free to attend or provide economic benefits to Town of Claremont business communities and residents
  • Already have or be willing to attain public liability insurance of not less than $10 million 

As our community grants are about benefiting the Claremont community, unfortunately we're unable to assist:

  • Proposals based in Claremont, but aiming to enhance or support communities beyond Claremont
  • Proposals based outside of the Town's boundaries
  • Proposals that are eligible for funding at a State or Federal Government level, eg from the Department of Local Government, Sport and Cultural Industries
  • Proposals to purchase large scale capital items (small scale purchases will be considered)
  • Projects requiring funds for operational salaries or wages 
  • Retrospective funding 

 

Proposals will be assessed against the following criteria:

1. Feasibility 

  • There is demonstrated feasibility and organisational capacity to deliver, including clear and realistic objectives, timeframes and budget 
  • The applicant has the ability to obtain all appropriate approvals, permits, insurances and licences 

2. Social outcomes 

  • The proposal's objectives are in the main interest of the Town of Claremont community and its residents 
  • There is a demonstrated community need 
  • The proposal has measurable social outcomes and benefits for the local Claremont community

Youth Funding

The Town of Claremont is committed to enhancing and building the capacity of young people. The Town's Youth Funding initiative aims to support the development of life skills, leadership and participation in activities that celebrate young people’s achievements.

Town of Claremont residents between the age of 12 – 18 can apply for up to $200 in financial assistance towards expenses related to representing at a state or national level across sporting, academic, leadership, performing arts and cultural pursuits.

Catio Grant Program

The Town’s new Catio Grant Program supports the building of enclosed areas in backyards for domestic cats, allowing the pets to spend time outside without the risk of harming native wildlife.

The program seeks to promote cat safety and protection of native wildlife by offering residents up to $500 to install a catio.
