Claremont Museum's latest exhibition looks at the clothes people wear for certain occasions and the stories and memories they evoke.

The exhibition will display clothing worn by people in the Freshwater Bay area and will explore the situations in which these outfits were worn, why they were chosen, and what they can tell us about the wearer and the time period.

Julie Bishop's iconic red shoes and dress worn at her resignation press conference, a gown worn in 1996 by opera singer Sara Macliver when performing to Diana, Princess of Wales, an Olympic boxing team tracksuit from 1964, and an incredible 1890s dress worn for a formal portrait are a few examples of the fascinating outfits on display at the exhibition.

Fashionable Stories will run from Monday 30 October 2023 to Sunday 7 April 2024 at the Claremont Museum, during normal museum opening hours:

Monday to Thursday 10am to 4pm
Friday to Saturday Closed
Sunday 10am to 2pm

Entry is free. Please note Claremont Museum is closed on public holidays.
