Dumping of waste and litter illegally is a problem across the metro area, and in a bid to stop it in the Town of Claremont, individuals who are caught will be fined as per the WA Litter Act 1979.

“Illegal dumping will not be tolerated,” said Mayor Barker.

“Our Community Safety Officers will fine offenders on the spot. If you see someone partaking in illegal dumping, please capture their car registration and contact the Town,” urged Mayor Barker.

The types of rubbish dumped ranges from mattresses, fridges, furniture, car tyres, building materials and clothing.

Town of Claremont residents have access to the West Metro Recycling Centre for their unwanted waste which includes disposal of unwanted mattresses.

In addition to that the Town provides 2 household waste and 2 green waste verge collections each year.
