Le Parc Lumiere is coming to Claremont

With 2020 claiming many events and gatherings, the Town of Claremont’s is excited to announce a new family friendly festival, to unite the Claremont community in celebration of the festive season.

Across three nights, Friday December 11 to Sunday December 13, artists across the state are igniting their creative spark as Claremont Park is transformed into an outdoor gallery with 13 temporary light sculptures, transforming the space through the medium of art. 
Then, to conclude the event, the Perth Symphony Orchestra will perform Christmas carols on stage on Sunday night.
The event will feature 13 sculptural light installations providing a positive sensory experience for all ages, engaging the public, and demonstrating a consideration of sustainability.

An industry panel will be judging the artwork, with 1^st place winning $5,000 and a people’s choice award taking $1,000 which the community can vote for on the night.

“As 2020 continues to challenge us, it’s also empowered us to think of new ways to communicate, to engage and think differently” Mayor Jock Barker said. 
Le Parc Lumiere is an example of this, a fantastic combination of two much loved events; ARTTRA Light Festival and the Christmas Carols.  It’s an opportunity to reconnect again, whilst still being Covid safe.

As well as lighting up their night with an illuminating stroll through Claremont Park’s bespoke installations, visitors can enjoy dinner at one of the delightfully delicious food stalls and mingle with an extravaganza of roving entertainers, with a special performance Friday and Saturday nights at 8pm, and the Carols on Sunday night at 6.30pm.

The Salvation Army are raising funds for domestic violence homes in Karratha and Highgate. Patrons can visit their stall and make a gold coin donation for a candle and carols program.

Le Parc Lumiere is a free event for the whole community. It runs Friday 11 December and Saturday 12 December from 5pm and 10pm each night, and Sunday 13 December from 5pm to 9pm.
