The Town would like to acknowledge the passing of Mr Peter Olson.
It is with much sadness that the Town has been advised of the passing of former Mayor and Freeman of the Town, Mr Peter Olson.
Peter leaves behind a legacy of community service and dedication to Claremont.
During his term of Mayor from 1997 - 2009, Claremont underwent many pivotal projects including the re-vitalisation and development of the Town Centre Shopping Precinct, Football Oval, old drive-in site and Lake Claremont restoration of native flora and fauna.
Peter dedicated his time as a volunteer on the Lake Claremont Committee.
In 2010 he was honoured to be made Freeman of the Town of Claremont, demonstrating his outstanding commitment and contribution.
Our thoughts are with Peter's wife Carol and their family.
